Hi, my name is Susan!

I have been interested in health, science, and beauty since high school. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. My inspiration for creating this blog is to share information and empower women toward self-care. As a pharmacist, I believe that medications and supplements can be beneficial in certain cases. But, I also acknowledge the importance of preventative medicine and holistic health.
There are many aspects of wellness that should be incorporated into a healthy lifestyle wherever possible. I feel it’s helpful to set up habits that work for you. Consistency is important. These can include exercising regularly, eating nutritious foods, and limiting exposure to harmful substances. I have struggled with my mental health throughout my life and found it difficult to lead a healthy lifestyle. I have chosen to be honest about this on my blog to reduce social stigma and educate women. Due to this, I am an advocate for patient-centered and personalized care. This blog was created to inspire and motivate myself as well.
Beauty Philosophy
I love using personal care products. With so many brands on the market, it is easy to feel overwhelmed. My philosophy is quality over quantity! As a busy woman, I understand that it can often be difficult to find the time for self-care. I am not a fan of overly complicated routines for that reason.
Lately, I have incorporated “clean beauty” products into my daily care routine. However, this term can be potentially misleading. A natural ingredient may not always mean it is any safer or better than a synthetic one. I routinely read labels and research ingredients on my own. I do my best to be an ecologically and socially aware consumer. Whenever possible, I enjoy supporting brands with similar values.
